Kametstal has shipped 160 thousand tons of rolled products from mill 400/200 since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2024, Kametstal has shipped almost 160 thousand tons of products produced at the 400/200 mill to domestic and foreign consumers. This is stated in the company’s press release.

The most popular products, which are in high demand both in Ukraine and abroad, include wire rod with a diameter of 5.5 to 12 mm, rounds with a diameter of 25, 30, 40 mm, angles, channels, and rebar with a diameter of 8 to 36 mm.

Rolling Mill 400/200 was put into operation at Kametstal in April 2014. In May of the same year, the unit produced the first batch of round wire rod in coils. A month later, the unit carried out a trial rolling of angle 50 on the section line, and then started mastering rebar on the take-off line.

«In the first year of operation, the rolling team focused its main efforts on maximizing the mill’s product mix capabilities: four to five or even six new sections were rolled every month,» the statement said.

Over the 10 years of operation, Kametstal’s 400/200 mill has mastered 119 rolled sections, produced and shipped nearly 5 million tons of products to customers, including more than 2.6 million tons of wire rod and more than 2.2 million tons of long products and rebar.

«Today’s long products section of the rolling shop is a stable operation, systematic expansion of the product mix and increased production efficiency even in difficult wartime conditions,» the company summarizes.

In March, Kametstal produced the first batch of railcar axles in 2024 in the amount of 2,957 thousand units (1.6 thousand tons) by order of Ukrainian railcar producers. Last year, the plant produced and shipped more than 3.5 thousand tons of the relevant products.
