Kametstal expands product mix at 400/200 rolling mill

Kametstal has expanded its product range at rolling mill 400/200. In November, the rollers shipped rebar with a nominal cross section of 9.5 and 11.5 mm to customers, according to a press release from the company.

These are rebar bars that, along with 10- and 12-mm rebar profiles, are used in the construction industry, including in the construction of housing and infrastructure facilities for Ukrainians. The non-standard parameters of the profile sizes allow customers to optimize metal consumption for the construction of concrete structures of buildings and structures, while ensuring the required strength.

The team efforts of the rolling production, calibration bureau and technological department of the plant developed a technical solution that made it possible to fulfill this task without delay. They developed and made changes to the production process, calibration table, rolling scheme, calibrated rolls, etc. We effectively utilized the existing rolling equipment and the experience of the process personnel of Mill 400/200 in rolling reinforcing bars No. 10 and No. 12.

In November, the company’s rollers produced and shipped 1 thousand tons of 9.5 rebar and 1.5 thousand tons of 11.5 rebar to Ukrainian customers.

“Expanding the range of steel products, including those made to individual customer orders, allows Kametstal and the company as a whole to assert its authority as a customer-oriented manufacturer in the current challenging conditions of the Ukrainian and European steel markets. If there is a need in the market for such non-standard rebar, we promptly responded to the customers’ request, our specialists have enough experience, knowledge and skills to master a new type of rolled products in a short time,” comments Alexander Oleynik, Chief Rolling Officer of Kametstal.

Earlier, Kametstal set up a new type of profitable steel product at Rolling Mill 400/200 – a round section with a diameter of 27 mm. This is the second new product that the plant’s rollers have added to the company’s product mix since the beginning of the year.
