Interpipe starts supplying pipes to Ukraine’s energy sector with assistance from USAID

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has started supplying pipes for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The initiative is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the company said in a press release.

“We have started supplying pipes ordered by the USAID Energy Security Project in Ukraine. About 900 tons of pipes have already been delivered to energy infrastructure facilities across the country. These pipes are the help of the American people to ensure heat supply to Ukrainians,” the company said.

Also, as part of the Energy Security Project, USAID has provided 33 high-voltage power transformers to a water supply company serving frontline communities. The assistance has significantly improved the reliability of the power supply, which will result in centralized water supply for about 1.5 million Ukrainians. This assistance has also significantly improved the reliability of wastewater services.

The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the USAID Energy Security Project signed a memorandum of understanding at the end of 2023 aimed at restoring, reforming and developing the energy and municipal infrastructure of communities and ensuring energy sustainability.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-September 2024, Interpipe increased the payment of taxes and duties to the budgets of all levels and off-budget funds of Ukraine by 27% compared to the same period in 2023, to UAH 3.992 billion.

Despite the difficulties of wartime, Interpipe remains one of the key industrial companies in Ukraine, continuing to manufacture railway and pipe products for the domestic and export markets, invest in production facilities, and increase contributions to the Ukrainian budget. The total number of employees is about 9.5 thousand, and those who serve in the Armed Forces or other law enforcement agencies is about 950.
