The company is ready to demonstrate openness in the gradual formation of its ESG strategy, starting from the first stage – the ecopolicy project
On 13 September, the Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe presented its draft environmental policy to the ESG Liga’s Board of Experts (PAEW) for discussion. The company’s press service told GMK Center.
‘Interpipe’s environmental policy clearly articulates the fundamental elements of our approach and how we fulfil our environmental commitments. The provisions of this policy are in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, relevant codes and programmes, and other company policies,’ said Vladislav Varnavsky, Interpipe’s Director of Environment and Industrial Safety, during a presentation of the environmental policy in a hybrid format to experts in Kyiv on Friday.
According to him, the company is developing its environmental policy in line with international practices, involving its employees, environmental experts, representatives of state and local authorities, business partners, NGOs and professional associations.
‘We are ready to take into account the wishes of all stakeholders affected by our influence,’ said the top manager.
In addition, during the meeting of the ESG Liga’s Board of Experts (PAEW), the ESG Liga summed up the results of summer activities, formed an interaction plan for the next six months, and discussed proposals for community development.
According to Varnavsky, together with the experts, they reviewed the applied ESG case of Interpipe, which has not only declared but is also ready to demonstrate openness in the gradual formation of its ESG strategy, starting with the first stage – the draft environmental policy.
In June 2024, Interpipe presented a major investment project worth about $1 billion at the International Conference on Ukraine’s Recovery (URC2024) in Berlin, which involves the expansion of green steel production facilities. This includes the construction of the second stage of the Interpipe Steel electric arc furnace complex and a green flat steel production shop.
Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company that manufactures steel pipes and railway products. The company’s products are supplied to more than 50 countries through a network of sales offices located in key markets in the Middle East, North America and Europe. In 2023, the company sold 387 thousand tonnes of pipe products and 95 thousand tonnes of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.
