Production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 3.5% over the month

In February 2021, industrial production in Ukraine shrank by 4.6% compared to February last year, according to the State Statistics Service.

In February 2021, production of steel and finished metal products fell by 3.5%, while mining of iron ores grew by 1.3% against February 2020.

At the same time, with adjustment for the effect of calendar days, the fall was less significant — 2%, which is 0.3% up from January 2021.

In February, production of steel and finished metal products remained flat, while mining of iron ores declined by 8.6% compared to January.

In 2M 2021, industrial production in Ukraine shrank by 4.2% y-o-y. The decline was recorded at 4% in January.

In 2M, production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 3.6% and mining of iron ores increased by 0.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In 2020, industrial production in Ukraine declined by 5.2% against 2019. Last year, production of steel and finished metal products decreased by 9.1%, whereas mining of iron ores by 2.4%.
