Ferrexpo Humanitarian Foundation to be honored at the Global Good Awards 2024 international ceremonyy

Ferrexpo considers this achievement to be a significant recognition in the international arena

The mining company’s project Humanitarian Fund: Together with Ukraine became a finalist of the prestigious international ceremony Global Good Awards 2024 in the Humanitarian Response category.

At the end of February 2022, in response to the challenges of Russia’s full-scale aggression, Ferrexpo established the Humanitarian Fund to provide immediate assistance to Ukrainian communities affected by the war. The fund provided food, medical supplies, hygiene products, warm clothing and other vital goods to the people of Ukraine.

Ferrexpo’s infrastructure became a home for hundreds of internally displaced people during the war. The company also supported the evacuation of civilians from the war-torn areas and the construction of temporary shelters for IDPs at Ferrexpo’s facilities.

Ferrexpo’s Humanitarian Fund has also become an important tool in providing humanitarian aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the country’s defense forces.

Ferrexpo is constantly supporting Ukraine’s defenders, their families, local communities and everyone who needs help in this difficult time. Since the launch of the project, Ferrexpo’s team has made every effort to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine,” commented Yuriy Khymych, CEO of Belanovo Mining.

The Global Good Awards is a prestigious international platform that recognizes and rewards companies and organizations for their contribution to social and environmental initiatives. The winners of this year’s international ceremony will be announced on October 3, 2024, in London, the capital of the United Kingdom.

As GMK Center reported earlier, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ferrexpo has already allocated UAH 946.5 million for humanitarian support to Ukraine.

The Humanitarian Fund is aimed at supporting 12 regions of Ukraine that have suffered the most during the war: Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovs’k, Lviv and Poltava regions.
