In January-June 2023, the European Union increased the import of ferrous metal scrap from Ukraine by 13.1 times compared to the same period in 2022 – up to 89.8 thousand tons. This is evidenced by the data Eurostat.

In June, European importers consumed 13.8 thousand tons of Ukrainian scrap metal, which is 25.4% less compared to the previous month and 200 times more compared to June 2022. In general, since the beginning of the year, the trend towards an increase in the export of scrap metal from Ukraine to the EU has gradually increased, but in June, imports decreased:

In June, €3.5 million was spent on the import of Ukrainian raw materials. This is 46.7% less than May of this year, and 3.6 times more compared to June 2022.

The largest volumes of scrap metal are delivered to Poland – 82.2 thousand tons.
