Duferco will start production at a new beam mill in Italy in mid-June

Italy’s Duferco Travi e Profilati, a subsidiary of Luxembourg’s Duferco, will start production on a new beam mill at its plant in San Zeno Naviglio (Italy) in mid-June this year. SteelOrbis informs about it.

At the end of May 2023, a reheating furnace was put into operation in the rolling shop of the enterprise.

With the launch of new capacities, the company will be able to reach an annual production volume of 1.5 million tons of rolled products.

Duferco Travi e Profilati is part of the Duferco Group and owns four plants in Italy. The company is one of the main producers of steel beams and rolled products in Italy, Europe and North Africa. The steel plant in San Zeno Naviglio is the main plant of the group, its production capacity is 950 thousand tons of steel per year.

As GMK Center reported earlier, the Kazakh steel plant ArcelorMittal Temirtau increased capacity of sheet-rolling shop №1 up to 42 thousand tons of sheet steel per month. The productivity of the workshop increased to a ten-year high.

The Turkish steel producer Yıldız Demir Çelik invests more than $152 million in new steel smelting and roll production facilities. According to the project, the new enterprise will provide smelting of 4 million tons of steel and production of 3.5 million tons of hot-rolled products per year. It is estimated that construction will take three years, and its operational life will be 30 years.
