Dniprospeetsstal will settle nearly 90 million hryvnias of electricity debt under a settlement agreement

The Commercial Court has approved a settlement agreement between Zaporizhzhiaelektropostachannya LLC and Dniprospetsstal PJSC in a case concerning the recovery of arrears for electricity consumed. This was reported by ExPro, citing information from the court register.

Initially, the electricity supplier sought to recover nearly 90 million hryvnias from the metallurgical enterprise, which, in addition to the principal debt, included 3 per cent annual interest and inflation-related losses. To secure the claim, the court froze the plant’s bank accounts.

During the court proceedings, the parties managed to reach a compromise. Following the commencement of proceedings, ‘Dniprospetsstal’ partially settled the debt by transferring 2 million UAH, as a result of which the court closed the proceedings in respect of that part. Subsequently, the parties entered into a settlement agreement, under which the company acknowledged the remaining debt of 88 million UAH and undertook to repay it strictly in accordance with an agreed schedule. Following the signing of the document, the attachment of the plant’s accounts was lifted.

PJSC A.M. Kuzmin Dniprospetsstal Electrometallurgical Plant is Ukraine’s sole producer of a wide range of special steels (including long products, bearing steel and chromium-nickel steel).

As reported by GMK Center, in early July the NEURC approved a new electricity transmission tariff for NPC Ukrenergo. According to the document, the tariff for electricity transmission services from 1 August 2026 will be: for system users (excluding ‘green’ electrometallurgy enterprises) — 928.45 UAH/MWh (here and below excluding VAT, a 25% increase), and for ‘green’ electrometallurgy enterprises — 563.26 UAH/MWh.
