The EAEU has extended anti-dumping measures on Ukrainian stainless steel pipes

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has extended anti-dumping measures on seamless stainless steel pipes with a diameter of up to 426 mm, produced in Ukraine, until 29 April 2027. This is stated in a press release from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

As noted, the measure was due to expire on 6 September this year; however, the EEC received a request, following which a review anti-dumping investigation was launched in April.

“The EAEU’s regulatory framework provides for the extension of the current anti-dumping measure for the duration of the re-investigation, which must be completed within 12 months of the date of its commencement,” the EEC statement reads.

The anti-dumping duty on Ukrainian stainless steel pipes, which ranges from 4.32 per cent to 18.96 per cent of the customs value depending on the manufacturer, was introduced in February 2016. It was subsequently extended in 2021 until September 2026.

It should be recalled that in June last year, the Eurasian Economic Commission extended the anti-dumping duty on imports of galvanised steel from China and Ukraine for a further five years — until 9 June 2030. The duty was first introduced on 3 December 2019. It sets a rate of 12.69–17 per cent on Chinese-produced galvanised steel, depending on the specific manufacturer. For products from Ukraine, the duty is set at 23.9 per cent of the customs value.
