DMZ received a certificate of conformity for P34 type mine rails

Specialists from two organizations – DRTCB and ECET – were involved in the certification

The Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) received a certificate of conformity for the P34 type mine rails. Certification was carried out at the request of consumers. It is stated in DCH Steel’s corporate newspaper.

«Mine rails, according to the current legislation, are not subject to mandatory certification like, for example, rails for railway transport. However, this does not reduce consumer demands for their quality and reliability. It is for this purpose that voluntary third-party certification is carried out,» the company notes.

DMZ has repeatedly carried out such certification, but this year two organizations – the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU): checked compliance: «Dnipro Railway Transport Certification Body» (DRTCB) and «Eurasian Center for Engineering and Testing» (ECET).

DOSFT auditors assessed the rail production and control processes, checked compliance with the requirements of technical documentation, and confirmed DMZ’s ability to produce rails of the required quality level.

At the same time, ECET representatives personally performed a full range of measures to check the geometric and mechanical properties of rails and confirmed the accuracy of the results of the technical control department and the central plant laboratory of DMZ.

Based on the test results, the company received a certificate of conformity for two years, with mandatory technical supervision next year.

«Despite the war and the difficult situation in the metallurgical industry, DMZ once again confirmed that highly qualified specialists work here and high-quality products are produced,» the company summarizes.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022 DMZ reduced production of rolled steel by 74.2% compared to 2021 – to 58.4 thousand tons, and coke – by 56.3%, to 211.3 thousand tons.

Dnipro Metallurgical Plant is a full-cycle steel enterprise that is part of the DCH group. It produces semi-finished products and shaped rolled steel products: channel, angle bars, rails.

Its main products are square billets (exported to Turkiye and Egypt), channels (wide export geography: countries of Europe, Asia, Africa) and pig iron (exported mainly to Turkiye).
