КХП ДМЗ
The Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) at its coke-chemical production is restoring the laying of coke ovens, installing new equipment and pipelines, as well as preparing for the major repair of the saturator and the implementation of a large-scale project – the commissioning of a new gas pipeline supplying coke gas next year. It is stated in DCH Steel’s corporate newspaper.
Among the completed works at the coke chemical plant (CCP) is the major repair of the car for extinguishing coke, which was completed in July. In addition, a new GIL-52 vibrating screen for sorting coke into fractions was put into operation at the coke sorting station. New equipment was installed in the resin warehouse – with the help of two additional steam heaters, it is now possible to process the entire volume of coal tar much faster.
At CCP ceramic surfacing of coke oven walls is in progress, this will improve the efficiency of the three working batteries and reduce the environmental impact – the work will continue until the end of August. In the workshop for capturing chemical products, the repair of water supply collectors for the barylette cycle, which provide cooling of coke gas, is being completed. Gas pipelines, cable overpasses, conveyors, production units and buildings are under repair.
Among the works that will be started in the near future:
«Now, in the specialized shop for the repair of steel equipment, the metal structures of the supports are being manufactured, in the fall they will prepare the foundations and install the columns, and next year the installation of the gas pipeline will begin. It is planned to be completed in six months, after which it will be necessary to stop production and connect the batteries to the new highway. Ahead of the specialists of CCP is a large amount of construction and installation work, a complex technological task, but, I am sure, we will complete all the work on time and with high quality», notes the director of coke chemical production Oleksiy Horbula.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-July 2023, DMZ produced 70,000 tons of rolled steel, which is 2.5 times more compared to the same period in 2022. The output of coke increased by 27.5% y/y – up to 172.4 thousand tons.
At the end of July, coke production of DMZ worked with three coke batteries at 50-55% of their capacity. The coke-chemical division of the enterprise in 2022 switched to exclusively domestic coal raw materials and manufactures products mainly for ferroalloy plants of Ukraine. In addition, in March 2023, the enterprise resumed the production of metallurgical coke.
Dnipro Metallurgical Plant is a full-cycle steel enterprise that is part of the DCH group. It produces semi-finished products and shaped rolled steel products: channel, angle bars, rails.
