Exclusive Construction work performed in Ukraine in January-September increased by 15.5% y/y

Growth recorded in all areas of work

The index of completed construction works in Ukraine for January-September 2025 increased by 15.5% compared to the same period in 2024. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service.

Non-residential construction saw significant growth of 34.2% y/y. Residential construction grew by 11% y/y, while the engineering construction segment saw growth of 7.5% y/y. Overall, construction of buildings (residential and non-residential) grew by 26.3% y/y.

In monetary terms, the volume of construction output in January-September amounted to UAH 164.55 billion, in particular, in the building sector – UAH 74.86 billion (UAH 22.84 billion – residential buildings; UAH 52 billion – non-residential), engineering structures – UAH 89.69 billion.

The share of new construction in the total volume of construction work performed in January-September of this year was 42.6%, repairs – 31%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 26.4%.

In September, construction in Ukraine grew by 22.6% y/y and 6.6% m/m, in particular:

• buildings (+30.3% y/y; +10.3% m/m);
• residential buildings (+18.1% y/y; +1.8% m/m);
• non-residential buildings (+35.7% y/y; +13.9% m/m);
• engineering structures (+16.3% y/y; +3.4% m/m).

As GMK Center reported earlier, construction work performed in Ukraine last year increased by 15.5% y/y – to UAH 204.7 billion. In terms of individual segments, the increase in the volume of construction work last year was as follows: residential construction – by 7.6% y/y, to UAH 26.6 billion; non-residential construction – up 26.2% y/y, to UAH 57.7 billion; engineering structures – up 12.5% y/y, to UAH 120.4 billion.

In 2024, new construction accounted for 41.1% of the total volume of construction work performed, repairs – 32.6%, and reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 26.3%.
