Construction output shrank by 11.6% in February

In February 2021, Ukrainian companies reduced the construction output by 11.6% against February last year, and by 1.6% against January this year, according to the State Statistics Service.

In January–February, Ukrainian companies cut the construction output by 12.8% against the same period a year earlier. In monetary terms, it amounted to ₴15.4 billion.

In 2M 2021, the residential construction output dropped by 2.5% and engineering construction by 19.9%. The non-residential construction output decreased by 11.3%.

The share of new construction in the total construction output was 45.6%, repair 26.7%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment 27.7%.

In January–February, a growth in the construction output against the same period of 2020 was recorded in:

  • Odesa oblast — ₴978.6 million (+3.5%);
  • Poltava oblast — ₴1.03 billion (+2.5%);
  • Rivne oblast — ₴269 million ₴ (2.4%);
  • Sumy oblast — ₴161.1 million (+3.5%);
  • Kharkiv oblast — ₴2.01 billion (+5.4%);
  • Khmelnytskyi oblast — ₴463.7 million (+58.5%).

Other oblasts reported a decline in the construction output. In Kyiv, it fell by 17.6% to ₴1.8 billion.

As reported earlier, in 2020, Ukrainian companies increased the construction output by 4% against 2019. The volume of manufactured construction products totaled ₴199 billion.

The residential construction output dropped by 18.5%, while the engineering construction output increased by 14.8%. The non-residential construction output decreased by 2.7%.
