The plant has repeatedly been subjected to massive shelling since 2014

On March 13, Avdiivka Coke Plant, part of Metinvest Group, came under massive shelling by Russian troops.  It’s stated in a message on the company’s website.

“Shells hit the first and second coke shops, coal pitch processing and preparation second shops, and the warehouse. There are no injuries”, stated in the statement.

As the result of shelling was stopped the plant thermal plant, which supplies heat to the Avdiivka.

The plant has repeatedly been subjected to massive shelling since 2014, the company reminds. More than 320 shells exploded on the territory of the Avdiivka Coke Plant, twelve workers of the plant were killed, two of them − at the workplace.

As GMK Center reported early, Avdiivka Coke Plant earlier transferred most of its capacities to the conservation mode.

Avdiivka Coke Plant is the largest coke plant in Europe. The capacity of the dressing plant of the enterprise is 6,4 million tons of raw coal. Coke production is equipped with dry coke quenching units.
