ArcelorMittal helped to deliver 7 tons of humanitarian aid from France

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih delivered 7 tons of humanitarian cargo from France on its own. Delivery of much-needed aid was possible thanks to the company’s funds and the help of the company’s employees. It is said in Metalurg newspaper’s press release.

The company received information about humanitarian aid for Ukraine collected in the French city of Catenay from employees of ArcelorMittal Research&Development (R&D).

“This is one of the research divisions of our corporation, which is located in France. Our former employees are now working there. They and their colleagues together collected aid for our country. Several other local organizations and enterprises joined them,” said Volodymyr Yevtekhov, engineer of technology and strategy administration of the plant.

According to him, the management of the company found out about the possibility of sending the cargo to Ukraine and allocated the necessary funds. Colleagues from different departments worked out a plan and found a car to deliver aid to Kryvyi Rih.

In this way, about 90 large, medium, and small boxes with medicines and first-aid kits, more than 80 boxes with personal hygiene products, 16 children’s and 8 medical beds, as well as sleeping bags, clothes, food, etc., were brought from France.

“All the products were donated to the charitable organization “39th women’s self-defense force”, which has been collecting aid for several years and delivering it to those who need it the most. The representative of the “Women’s hundred” reported that gifts from France will be sent to our defenders and refugees in different parts of the country. Some of these important items to be handed over to the Kryvyi Rih humanitarian aid headquarters,” the company reports.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-May 2022, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih paid UAH 6.2 billion of taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels. UAH 3.3 billion of this money went to the state budget, and UAH 861 million – to local budgets. The company also transferred UAH 511 million of the single social contribution and UAH 1.5 billion of VAT on imports of raw materials.
