Zaporizhvognetryv, Ukraine’s largest manufacturer of refractory products and part of the Metinvest Group, significantly expanded its product portfolio in 2025, mastering the production of 15 new types of refractory products for lining key units of iron and steel enterprises. Over the course of the year, more than 390 tons of new products were shipped to consumers, according to a press release.
The new product range was developed taking into account the specific production needs of metallurgical and mining and processing enterprises and is aimed at improving the reliability and continuity of technological processes. In particular, the plant has mastered the production of suspended andalusite refractories for firing machines, as well as burner stones for the group’s Central and Northern Mining and Processing Plants.
For Kametstal, the enterprise has established the production of vibro-cast tuyere blocks for the blowdown units of steel-casting ladles in the converter shop, as well as a range of unshaped refractories. These include slag-forming mixtures for the crystallizer of the continuous casting machine for high-carbon steel grades, heat-insulating mixtures for the intermediate ladle, and shotcrete for its working layer and repair of coke batteries.
Separate solutions were developed for Metinvest Machinery – refractories for lining the working wall of an electric arc furnace, as well as for the Dniprostal plant – refractories for the reinforcement layer of steel casting ladles.
As part of its technical development in 2026, Zaporizhogneupor plans to master about ten new types of products, including metal receivers, ladle cups, new grades of hardeners, slag-forming mixtures, and refractory heat-insulating concrete. The company cooperates with partners in 30 countries around the world, while Metinvest’s Ukrainian assets remain its key customers. In total, the plant produces about 1,200 grades of refractories and provides more than 30 types of services, with production reaching 95,000 tons in 2025.
In 2024, Zaporizhvognetryv produced 96,000 tons of products, which is 25% more than in the previous year. These results were achieved thanks to a systematic approach to production modernization.
Zaporizhvognetryv manufactures fireclay, mullite-silica, mullite, mullite-corundum, periclase, periclase-chromite products, silicon carbide electric heaters, and unshaped refractory materials. The company’s products are widely used in Ukraine, as well as in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
