Zaporizhstal shipped 84 tons of medical oxygen to hospitals in March

Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works in March 2023 shipped 84 tons of medical oxygen to medical institutions of Ukraine. This is stated in the company’s message on the Facebook page.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the company has provided hospitals with 220 tons of oxygen, which is used for severe respiratory diseases, heart failure, poisoning and for surgical anesthesia. Oxygen is shipped mainly to medical facilities in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“Zaporizhstal plant has been shipping certified medical oxygen to Ukrainian hospitals for two years, which saves the lives of patients with complex diseases, in particular, COVID-19. The war does not stop our desire to support Ukrainians, because together we are strong!”, the company notes.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Zaporizhstal in 2022 transferred to hospitals of Ukraine over 1.3 thousand tons of medical oxygen. During the year, the plant provided vital oxygen free of charge to 14 hospitals in the Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

Also, the Metinvest Group, with the support of Ingulets Mining, purchased and installed two Malcomson stationary generators with a capacity of 165 kW and 265 kW for UAH 3 million in Kryvyi Rih Hospital №17. As part of cooperation with the company, the hospital is carrying out capital repairs of wards and departments, purchasing modern medical equipment, and improving the material and technical base.
