In October 2024, Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works reduced production of commercial rolled steel by 6.5% compared to the previous month, to 172.2 thousand tons. The figure fell to its lowest level since June 2023. This is stated in the company’s press release.
Pig iron production for the month amounted to 264.5 thousand tons, up 6.4% compared to September, and steel production amounted to 241.3 thousand tons (+18.9% m/m). Compared to the same month in 2023, rolled products production decreased by 17.4%, iron production – by 1%, and steel production – by 4.1%.
In January-October, rolled steel production increased by 21.3% year-on-year – to 2 million tons. Pig iron production amounted to 2.56 million tons (+17% y/y), and steel production was 2.42 million tons (+21% y/y).
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2023, Zaporizhstal increased its output by 50.6% year-on-year – to 7.24 million tons. In particular, the plant produced

In particular, in 2021, the plant produced 4.5 million tons of iron, 3.8 million tons of steel and 3.2 million tons of rolled products. In 2023, the plant operated at an average of 70% of its capacity.
