Zaporizhstal handed over 1,500 more body armors to the National Guard’s soldiers

Steel plant Zaporizhstal handed over another batch of 1.5 thousand body armors to the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. Metinvest.Media reports about it in its press release.

In total, the National Guard units of the southern operational territorial association have already received 7,200 body armors from Metinvest.

“We are handing over another batch of high-class protection vests for the personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine serving in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. Another 1,500 servicemen will be provided with protection,” said Oleksandr Myronenko, CEO of Zaporizhstal.

The armor plates are produced at the company’s enterprises, and plate carriers are sewn by contractors for order.

Zaporizhzhia Metinvest’s enterprises have handed over 23,000 bulletproof vests to units of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, the State Security Service, as well as to units of the National Police. The military also received modern helmets.

“Thanks to the help of the company’s enterprises, the need for the southern operational-territorial association is 100% met. A serviceman dressed in high-quality body armor does his duties better because he feels protected,” commented Andriy Belyaev, commander of the 23rd public order brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

As GMK Center reported earlier, since June 2022, the metal trading company Metinvest-SMC has received about 100 requests for the production and supply of 27,000 body armors. The company provides armor plates for free.

Also, Metinvest-SMC launched the supply of hot-rolled sheet for further thermal treatment and production of hard armor protection elements of equipment.  Products after strengthening can be used to increase protection of off-road vehicles and other passenger cars for the military, medical transport, utility vehicles and other equipment operating in the high-risk area.
