Zaporizhkoks produced 875 thousand tons of products in 2024

Zaporizhkoks PrJSC increased blast furnace coke production by 2.1% in 2024 compared to 2023, up to 874.6 thousand tons. This is stated in the company’s press release.

In December, Zaporizhkoks increased production by 4% compared to the previous month to 74.2 thousand tons. The figure increased by 3.2% compared to December 2023.

In the fourth quarter, Zaporizhkoks produced 219.36 thousand tons of metallurgical coke. This is 2.3% more than in the same period of 2023 and 0.3% less than in the previous quarter. In the third quarter, this volume was 220.1 thousand tons (+2% y/y; -0.1% q/q), in the second quarter – 220.36 thousand tons (+2.3% y/y; +2.6% q/q), in the first quarter – 214.82 thousand tons (+1.7% y/y).

The average monthly production in 2024 was 72.89 kt compared to 71.41 kt in 2023.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Zaporizhkoks increased its blast furnace coke production by 16% or 119.4 kt in 2023 – to 856.8 kt. In December, the company produced 71.9 thousand tons of blast furnace coke. This is 1% more than in December 2022 and 3% more than in the previous month.

At the same time, in 2022, the company reduced blast furnace coke production by 11.9% compared to 2021, to 737.4 thousand tons. The output decreased as a result of the plant’s shutdown on March 1, 2022, due to the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Production was partially resumed on April 1 last year. The company’s products were supplied to Metinvest’s enterprises, including Zaporizhstal.

Zaporizhkoks is one of the largest coke and chemical producers in Ukraine. It is a part of Metinvest Group. The main consumer of its products is Zaporizhstal.
