Zaporizhkcoke increased production to 749,000 tons in January-October

PJSC Zaporizhkcoke, one of Ukraine’s largest producers of coke for metallurgy, increased its output by 2.7% year-on-year – to 748,700 tons in January-October 2025, according to GMK Center’s calculations based on the company’s data.

In October, production increased by 2.5% compared to the previous month and by 7% year-on-year, reaching 79 thousand tons.

It should be noted that coke imports to Ukraine in January-September 2025 decreased by 4.6% year-on-year, reaching 491.17 thousand tons. In September, imports of coke amounted to 57,660 tons, which is 16.2% less than in the previous month and 45.7% less than in September 2024.

In early April, the first ship of 2025 with coking coal from the US, chartered by Metinvest Group, arrived in the country. The bulk carrier Bison delivered 80 thousand tons of raw materials from United Coal Company, a member of the group located in the Appalachian region of the US. The company planned to import 80,000 tons of raw materials per month to ensure production after the Pokrovsk Coal Group was shut down.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2024, Zaporizhkcoke increased coke production by 2.1% compared to 2023, to 874,600 tons.

Since 2022, the company has allocated more than UAH 360 million for the capital renovation of the coke oven fleet. Most of the funds were invested in the overhaul of coke batteries No. 2 and No. 5-6. Recent investment projects include the overhaul of coke pusher No. 3 on coke battery (CB) No. 5-6 and the overhaul of the U-30 charge feeding line in the coal preparation shop.

Zaporizhkcoke is a key producer of coke chemical products in Ukraine. It is part of the Metinvest Group. The main consumer of its products is the Zaporizhstal steelworks.
