UZ has increased the fee rates for the use of pellet carriers by 2.3 times since May

Starting from May 2023, Ukrainian Railways (UZ) will raise the rates for the use of its own pellet carriers by 2.3 times compared to the previous month – up to UAH 350/day. This is evidenced by data on the website of the Ukrainian Railways Transport Logistics Center (TLC).

Fee rates for the use of own half-railcars in May will decrease by 10% compared to the price in April by 10% – to UAH 1,350/day.

According to TLC data, the price of most rolling stock will decrease this month. The rate for a grain truck will decrease by 6.1% m/m – to UAH 3,850/day. A converted and modernized tank will cost UAH 4,700/day, which is 7.8% less than in April.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in March 2023, UZ transported 12.2 million tons of cargo, which is 47% more compared to the same month of 2022, and 8.7% more compared to the previous month. During this period, 5.3 million tons of goods were shipped for export (+73.4% y/y and +4% m/m).

For January-March 2023, the railway operator reduced freight transportation by 38% y/y – to 34.7 million tons. 15.54 million tons of goods were shipped for export during this period.

In 2022, Ukrainian Railways reduced transportation of cargo by 52.1% compared to 2021 – to 150.6 million tons. Transportation of iron ore for the year fell by 59.2% y/y – to 31.7 million tons, and ferrous metals – by 57.8% y/y, to 9.2 million tons.

Earlier, UZ announced its intentions plans to increase prices for services provided by stations and branches at free tariffs by 38.3%. It is about the services provided by the company’s stations and branches – in particular, loading, unloading, weighing, shunting, etc.
