Ukrzaliznytsia transferred 5.28 million tons of cargo, including 276.4 thousand tons grain crops, from the beginning of the Russian invasion to Ukraine to March 18. It’s announced in the company’s Telegram channel by the Head of Ukzaliznhytsia Oleksander Kamyshin.
The rail loading volumes exceeded 300 thousand tons per day.
“On March 18, we loaded 315 thousand tons. Yes, this is half as much as it was before the war. But this is already twice as much as in the first days of the war. For the first time since the war began we exceeded 300 thousand tons”, said Oleksander Kamyshin.
As a reminder, the railway freight volume in Ukraine for the first nine days of March fell by around 70% y-o-y. Approximately the same declined rates are observed both in domestic transportation, and export-import.
As is reported Ukraine began the nationalization of Russian railway wagons located on the territory of the state. Currently there are 15.1 thousand Russian wagons in Ukraine belonging to 250 owners.
