Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily limited the pig iron and coke transportation to Poland

Starting from September 6, 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) temporarily limited the cargoes transportation of the mining and metals complex to Poland. The railway operator’s website reports about it.

UZ limited the transportation of coke and semi-coke, pig iron, steel bars, iron ore and iron ore concentrates. The convention applies to the Polish station of PKP Szczecin Port Central.

At the same time, the railway operator allowed the loading of coke and pig iron from Kryvyi Rih-Holovny and Kryvyi Rih stations of the Prydniprovsk railway for the sender ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. Recipient of cargo is the TSL Silesia Sp. z o.o.

As GMK Center reported earlier, previously Ukrzaliznytsia introduced three conventions, which prohibited the transportation of goods for the Kryvyi Rih mining and beneficiation plants of the Metinvest group. The UZ limited the transportation of railcars bound for the Ingulets, Terny, Ryadova and Grekuvata railway stations for the Ingulets, Northern and Central mining and beneficiation plants.

Also, according to the results of August 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia reduced the transportation of iron and manganese ore by 6.8% compared to the previous month – to 1.89 million tons. In general, UZ increased cargo transportation by 4.5% compared to the previous month – up to 10.79 million tons.
