Ukrzaliznytsia put up for sale 13 thousand tons of scrap worth UAH 60 million

Ukrzaliznytsia put up for auction in the system ProZorro.Sales 22 lots with scrap metal with a total weight of 12.6 thousand tons. The total starting cost is UAH 60.2 million. The average initial price per ton of raw materials is UAH 4.7 thousand.

All lots are exhibited for the first time. The deadline for submitting applications for participation is until August 3. The auction will take place on August 4, 2022.

Among the scrap offered for sale are types 321, 322, 326, 356, 500, 501, 505, 506, 510 and 510. These types of scrap are worn parts of wagons and trains, rails, frames and more.

Earlier Ukrzaliznytsia put up for sale 21 lots with scrap metal with a total weight of 15.97 thousand tons in the amount of UAH 74.97 million. Auctions for 21 lots are scheduled for August 2. Also on August 3 exhibited 24 lots weighing 18.32 thousand tons for UAH 82 million.

As GMK Center reported earlier, from the beginning of 2022 Ukrzaliznytsia sold 49.2 thousand tons of scrap metal for UAH 348.6 mln. In general, for the year, the railway operator planned to implement 170 thousand tons of scrap metal. Also, the state-owned company expected to dismantle 13,000 railcars for scrap.

At the end of 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia sold 201.2 thousand tons of scrap ferrous metals with a total value of UAH 1.503 billion. This is 38.8% more in monetary terms and 2.6 times more than in kind compared to 2020.

During the year, Ukrzaliznytsia managed to hold 84 auctions out of 210 published. Among the main buyers of raw materials:

• Dneprostal – 28 lots (82.2 thousand tons for UAH 631.4 million);
• Metinvest-Resource – 26 lots (80.8 thousand tons for UAH 592.2 million);
• Ferolit – 16 lots (13.8 thousand tons for UAH 112.2 million).
