Ukrzaliznytsia introduced a convention for transportation to Romania through Moldova

Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) has introduced new restrictions on cargo transportation to Romania through the territory of Moldova since August 15. This is reported by Rail.insider with the reference to the company’s site.

The temporary ban applies to cargo going from the territory of Ukraine to Moldova (via the Mogyliv-Podilskyi crossing), and then to Romania via the Ungeny station.

At the same time, the restriction does not apply to the loading in tanks.

The convention will operate from August 15 and until canceled.

At the beginning of August Ukrzaliznytsia introduced a convention for the transportation of sinter ore to Slovakia.

As GMK Cneter reported earlier, the railcars queue in the direction of border crossings during July decreased by 23.6%, or by 9,731 railcars.

Ukrzaliznytsia in January-July 2021 reduced transportation of iron and manganese ore by 3.3% compared to the same period of 2020 – up to 45.4 million tons.

UZ in July 2022 increased the transportation of iron and manganese ore by 3.2% compared to the previous month – up to 2.03 million tons.
