“Ukrmetalurgprom” appealed to World Steel to expel all Russian steel companies

The association “Ukrmetalurgprom” appealed to the World Steel Association (WSA) with the request to expel all Russian steel companies from Worldsteel. The relevant letter the association addressed to the leaders of World Steel Association Sajan Jindal and Edwin Basson.

“We appeal to you with the request to expel all Russian steel making companies from WorldSteel. Because they are not worthy to be a part of the global steelmaking community, and enjoy the benefits of the WSA membership. Your support will become a contribution to our victory, and the triumph of justice for steelmakers, and all the people of the Ukraine”, the letters said.

Currently the members of WSA are EVRAZ, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, METALLOINVEST, NLMK Group, Tube Metallurgical Company, SEVERSTAL, Russian Steel Association, etc.

“We consider this Russian companies as associates of terrorists, because they finance the war. Their connivance turns the once creative metal into the ruining substance, designing to massacre the Ukrainian people”, the message concludes.

As reported earlier, the number of Russian mining companies have already fallen under Western sanctions. As a result, S&P Global Ratings, Fitch Ratings downgraded credit ratings of Russian mining, and metallurgical companies “SEVERSTAL”, NLMK, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, EVRAZ, METALLOINVEST, Norilsk Nickel, “VSMPO-Avisma”, etc.
