According to the results of January-April 2022, Ukrainian steel companies reduced the export of semi-finished products by 55.3% compared to the same period in 2021, to 1.15 million tons, Ukraine’s State Customs Service data reveals.
In January-April, Ukrainian steelmakers reduced their revenue from the export of semi-finished products by 44.9%, to $707.88 million.
The biggest importer of semi-finished products from Ukraine was Italy (19.64% of supplies in monetary terms). Then, Bulgaria – 17.23%, and Turkey – 14.06%.
In addition, in 4 months Ukraine imported 5.52 thousand tons of relevant products. This is 25.1% less compared to January-April 2021. In monetary terms, the import of semi-finished products decreased by 18.6%, to $3.53 million. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (99.83% of supplies) and China (0.17%).
Earlier GMK Center reported that at the end of 2021, the export of semi-finished products from Ukraine decreased by 9.5% compared to 2020, to 6.8 million tons. In monetary terms, exports increased by 48.8%, to $4.1 billion.
The biggest importers of Ukrainian semi-finished products were Italy (30.9%), Turkey (12.8%) and the Dominican Republic (8%).
