Ukrainian steelmakers increased steel production by 7.2% in January–April

In January–April 2021, Ukrainian metals & mining companies ramped up steel production by 7.2% to 7.1 million tons compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the updated statistics of Ukrmetallurgprom.

Production of rolled products in 4M increased by 7.4% to 6.4 million tons, and pig iron by 9.1% to 7.1 million tons against the same period of 2020.

In 2020, companies of Ukraine’s mining & metals sector decreased steel production by 1.1% to 20.62 million tons against 2019. Production of rolled products grew by 1.2% to 18.43 million tons, pig iron by 1.8% to 20.42 million tons against 2019.
