Ukrainian Railways increased the fee rate for semi-railcars use by 7.1% m/m in September

Ukrainian Railways (UZ) from September 2023 increases the rates of payment for the use of its own gondola cars by 7.1% compared to the previous month – up to 1.5 thousand UAH / day. This is evidenced by data on the website of the UZ’s Transport Logistics Center (TLC) branch.

Thus, the payment rates for the use of gondola cars in September will be at the highest level since April this year. The rates of payment for the use of own pellet carriers remain at the level of August – 450 UAH/day.

According to the CTL, in September the rate for a grain truck will increase to UAH 500/day, while in August grain growers paid UAH 400/day for the use of grain trucks. The rate of payment for a platform of a universal, re-equipped and modernized platform of types 915, 968, 969 will be UAH 3.8 thousand (+0% m/m), for a covered wagon – UAH 1.49 thousand (+7.2% m/m), a cement truck – 700 UAH (-16.7% m/m).

Note that in August 2023 usage charge rate own pellet carriers of Ukrainian Railways remained at the level of July – up to 450 UAH/day. Rates of payment for the use of gondola cars in August increased by 7.7% compared to the previous month – up to UAH 1.4 thousand per day.

As GMK Center reported, Ukrainian Railways at the end of July 2023 reduced export shipments of ferrous metals by 6.9% m/m. – up to 378 thousand tons. Export transportation of iron and manganese ore in July 2023 increased by 1.7% m/m. – up to 1.45 million tons.

In 2022, Ukrainain Railways reduced transportation of iron and manganese ores by 59.2% compared to 2021 – to 41.7 million tons. Volumes of transportation of ferrous metals last year decreased by 57.8% y/y – to 9.2 million tons. In total, during the year UZ transported 150.6 million tons of cargo, which is 52.1% less compared to 2021.
