Ukrainian Railways has increased the rate of payment for the use of pellet carriers by 29% m/m since June

Starting from June 2023, Ukrainian Railways (UZ) is raising the rates of payment for the use of its own pellet carriers by 28.6% compared to the previous month – up to UAH 450/day. This is evidenced by data on the website of the UZ Transport Logistics Center branch.

Fee rates for the use of own semi-railcars in June will increase by 7.4% compared to the price in May – up to UAH 1,450/day.

According to CTL data, the price of most rolling stock will increase next month. At the same time, the rate for a grain truck will decrease by 5.2% m/m – to UAH 3,650/day, the universal platform, converted and modernized platform of types 915, 968, 969 will cost UAH 3,900/day, which is 4.9% less m/m. The rate of payment for the use of a covered railcar will increase by 11.6% m/m – up to UAH 1,439/day.

In May 2023, usage fee rate of own pellet carriers of UZ increased by 2.3 times compared to April – up to UAH 350/day. The rates of payment for the use of semi-railcars in May decreased by 10% compared to the price in April – to UAH 1,350/day.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in April 2023, Ukrainian Railways reduced export transportation of iron ore by 4% compared to the previous month – to 1.665 million tons. Transportation of ferrous metals amounted to 414 thousand tons (+16% m/m).

In 2022, UZ reduced transportation of cargo by 52.1% compared to 2021 – to 150.6 million tons. Transportation of iron ore for the year fell by 59.2% y/y – to 31.7 million tons, and ferrous metals – by 57.8% y/y, to 9.2 million tons.

Earlier, UZ announced its intentions to increase prices for services provided by stations and branches at free tariffs by 38.3%. It is about the services provided by the company’s stations and branches – in particular, loading, unloading, weighing, shunting, etc.
