Ukrainian producers increased steel production by 1% in January

In January 2022, companies of Ukraine’s iron & steel industry increased steel production by 0.9% to 1.86 million tons y-o-y, according to the updated statistics of Ukrmetallurgprom.

Production of pig iron in January dropped by 1.8% to 1.79 million tons, while production of rolled products increased by 0.5% to 1.67 million tons.

As reported earlier, in 2021, companies of Ukraine’s iron & steel industry ramped up steel production by 3.6% to 21.37 million tons y-o-y. Production of rolled products grew by 3.5% to 19.08 million tons, pig iron by 3.6% to 21.17 million tons.
