In January 2024, Ukrainian steel pipe producers increased exports by 51.6% compared to the previous month, to 34.65 thousand tons. The figure increased by 66.8% compared to January 2023. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service.
Revenue from exports of tubular products amounted to $45.1 million for the month, up 43.1% m/m and 8.3% y/y.
Seamless pipes, tubes and hollow profiles (HS 7304) were exported the most during the month, amounting to 28.1 thousand tons (+54% m/m, +73.8% y/y) for $40.1 million (+43.4% m/m, +6.5% m/m). Also, the company shipped 6.5 thousand tons (+40.7% m/m; +44.9% y/y) of other ferrous metal pipes, tubes and profiles (HS 7306) for $4.93 million (+39.4% m/m; +28.8% y/y).
The main consumers of Ukrainian pipes are Germany, Turkmenistan, Italy, Poland, Romania and Moldova.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2023, Ukrainian pipe companies reduced their exports by 11.8% compared to 2022, to 356.35 thousand tons. Revenue from pipe exports decreased by 15% y/y – to $587.11 million. Ukraine exported the most seamless pipes, tubes and hollow profiles (HS 7304) over 12 months – 281.25 thousand tons for $524.58 million. The main consumers of Ukrainian pipes were Germany, the USA, Romania and Poland.
The main producers of pipes in Ukraine are Interpipe NIKO TUBE LLC, Interpipe NTRP, DMZ Kominmet, Interpipe NMPP, Trubostal, Centravis, Dnipropetrovsk Pipe Plant and Slavsant.
