
During the period, Ukraine imported goods worth $21.9 billion, and exported – $13.4 billion
Ukraine’s trade turnover in January-April 2024 amounted to $35.3 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.
During the first four months of 2024, Ukraine imported $21.9 billion worth of goods and exported $13.4 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $19 billion, which is 87% of the total volume of imported goods.
Among the countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $4.2 billion, Poland – $2.3 billion, and Germany – $1.8 billion. Ukraine exported most of its goods to Poland – $1.3 billion, Spain – $1.1 billion, and China – $1.2 billion.
In January-April 2024, 65% of the total volume of goods imported was as follow:
- machinery, equipment and transport – $7.4 billion;
- chemical products – $4.2 billion
- fuel and energy products – $2.7 billion.
The top three most exported goods from Ukraine were food products ($8.6 billion), metals and metal products ($1.4 billion), and mineral products ($1.2 billion).
During the customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties, UAH 111.7 million was paid to the budget.
In 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $99.4 billion. In particular, the country imported $63.5 billion worth of goods and exported $36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The largest share of imports was accounted for by machinery, equipment and transport ($19.8 billion), and exports were food products ($21.8 billion).
