Ukraine’s revenue from exports of metals fell by 17.3% in January–September

Revenue of Ukrainian steelmaking companies from exports of ferrous metals in January–September 2020 decreased by 17.3% to $5.7 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the customs statistics.

In September, Ukrainian steelmaking companies exported ferrous metals worth $591 million. This is 6.8% down from August.

The share of ferrous metals in the structure of foreign currency earnings of the country in January–September amounted to 16.4% against 18.7% in the first nine months of the previous year.

At the same time, in the nine months, Ukraine cut imports of similar products by 21.3% to $758.8 million. In September, this indicator was $106.4 million.

As reported earlier, in 2019, Ukraine reduced exports of ferrous metals by 12.1% to $8.7 billion against the previous year.
