Ukraine’s revenue from exports of ferrous metals declined by 19%

Revenue of Ukrainian steelmaking companies from exports of ferrous metals in January–May 2020 dropped by 19% to $3.3 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the customs statistics provided by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

In May, revenue from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $601.5 million.

The share of ferrous metals in the structure of foreign currency earnings of the country in January–May 2020 decreased to 16.86% against 19.47% over the first five months of the past year.

In January–May, imports of ferrous metals decreased by 23.4% to $377.9 million.

In 2019, Ukraine’s exports of ferrous metals declined by 12.1% to $8.7 billion against the past year.
