Ukraine’s real GDP growth slowed to 0.8% in Q2 – State Statistics Service

Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, the State Statistics Service (Ukrstat) reported.
Compared to the previous quarter, seasonally adjusted, real GDP grew by 0.2%.
In the first quarter of this year, the figure was 0.9%.
According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s GDP growth in 2024 slowed to 2.9% from 5.5% in 2023. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the figure decreased by 0.1% year-on-year. At the same time, in the previous quarters, economic growth was uneven, amounting to 2.2% in the third quarter, 4% in the second quarter, and 6.8% in the first quarter. According to the statistics agency’s calculations, Ukraine’s nominal GDP amounted to UAH 7.66 trillion last year.
As GMK Center reported earlier, on September 15, the Ukrainian government approved the draft law on the state budget for 2026. Next year, total state budget expenditures and loans will amount to UAH 4.8 trillion, while general fund revenues are envisaged at UAH 2 trillion 826.5 billion (excluding grants and other international assistance). UAH 41.5 billion has been allocated to support the economy, including UAH 4.8 billion for grants for business, industrial parks, and investment incubators.

The need for external financing next year will amount to UAH 2 trillion 79 billion.
