In November 2020, Ukraine decreased pipe exports by 7.6% to 31.2 thousand tons against November last year. In monetary terms, pipe exports fell by 21.9% to $34.2 million, according to the customs statistics.
In January–November, Ukraine’s exports of pipes shrank by 23.6% to 431.9 thousand tons y-o-y. Revenue from pipes exports dropped by 22.3% to $478.7 million.
The share of seamless pipes in Ukraine’s exports was the largest, 318.7 thousand tons worth $411.1 million. Exports of other pipes and tubes totaled 103.7 thousand tons worth $56.8 million. Exports of pipes and tubes with a diameter of up to 406.9 mm ranked third, 9.1 thousand tons amounting to $8.8 million.
The main export markets for Ukraine-made seamless pipes and tubes were Germany, the U.S. and Russia. Turkmenistan bought around a half of other pipes and tubes, and Poland almost 50% of pipes and tubes with a diameter of up to 406.9 mm.
As reported earlier, in 2019, Ukraine’s pipe exports decreased by 9.5% to $667.9 million against 2018. In monetary terms, exports dropped by 6.8% to 612.8 thousand tons.
The main producers of pipes in Ukraine are Interpipe NIKO TUBE LLC, Interpipe NTRP, DMZ Kominmet, Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol, Interpipe NMPP, Trubostal, Centravis, Dnipropetrovsk Pipe Plant and Slavsant.
