Ukraine's nominal GDP last year amounted to over UAH 8.93 trillion
Ukraine’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth slowed to 1.8% in 2025 from 3.2% in 2024, according to preliminary data from the State Statistics Service (SSS).
According to the calculations of the statistical agency, Ukraine’s nominal GDP last year amounted to UAH 8.93 trillion.
It should be noted that, according to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 3% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of last year. Compared to the third quarter of 2025, taking into account seasonal factors, this indicator increased by 0.7%.
According to the National Bank’s February inflation report, inflation will be 7.5% at the end of 2026, and will remain close to the 5% target in the future, reaching it in 2028. The economy will grow by 1.8% this year. According to the regulator’s forecast, real GDP will grow by 2.8% in 2027 and by 3.7% in 2028.
As reported by GMK Center, Ukraine’s GDP in 2025 was 21% lower than its pre-war level. The country needs new drivers of growth, which can only be found in the industrial sector. The main factor supporting the economy was external financing, which amounted to $52.4 billion last year.
Industrial production in Ukraine fell by 2.4% y/y last year, while in 2024, it grew by 3.6% y/y. Growth was recorded in the defense, pharmaceutical, and steel industries.
