Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products grew by 26.8% in March

According to the customs statistics, Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products in March grew by 26.8% to $273.6 million in monetary terms against March 2019.

In physical terms, exports of semi-finished products increased by 32.8% to 716 thousand tons compared to March last year.

In Q1 2020, Ukraine’s mining companies increased revenue from exports of semi-finished products by 0.4% to $768.3 million compared to the same period of the previous year.

In January–March, Ukrainian steelmakers exported 2.054 million tons of semi-finished products. This is 12.3% up from Q1 2019.

The share of semi-finished products in the total volume of Ukraine’s foreign trade amounted to 6.3%.

The main export markets were Italy (26.29%), Turkey (19.25%), and Saudi Arabia (9.94%).

In 2019, exports of semi-finished products from Ukraine dropped by 4.8% to $2.9 billion against last year. Conversely, exports of semi-finished products from Ukraine in physical terms increased by 12% to 7.47 million tons against 2018.
