In October 2021, Ukrainian steel producers reduced exports of semi-finished products by 31.4% to 473 thousand tons against October 2020. At the same time, export revenues hiked by 22.7% to $317.8 million, according to the customs statistics.
In 10M 2021, Ukraine’s steelmaking companies increased revenues from semi-finished products exports by 52% to $3.5 billion compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January–October, Ukrainian steelmakers exported 5.83 million tons of semi-finished products, 9.2% down y-o-y.
The main consumers of Ukrainian semi-finished products are Italy (32.1%), Turkey (13.4%), and the Dominican Republic (8.2%).
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, volumes of Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products grew by 6.3% to 7.49 million tons against 2019. Conversely, revenues from exports of semi-finished products fell by 3.8% to $2.75 billion.
