Ukraine’s construction products index increased by 20% in 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year. The highest dynamics was recorded in non-residential and engineering construction, an increase of 27.4% and 23.3% respectively. The residential construction index was up just by 3%.
This was reported by the State Statistics Service.
Ukraine’s construction output totaled ₴177 billion in 2019, including residential buildings — ₴32.7 billion, non-residential and engineering facilities — ₴49.3 billion and ₴95.1 billion respectively.
The cost of construction of facilities of steelmaking companies amounted to ₴4.35 billion (+45.7% against 2018).
Expenses for new construction, reconstruction and technical re-equipment amounted to 74.2% of the total construction output, maintenance and overhaul repairs — 18.1% and 7.7% respectively.
As reported earlier, the growth rate of infrastructure construction accelerated in 2018. As a result, in 2018, the share of engineering construction in the total construction output increased by 2.4 percentage points to 52.5% compared to the previous year. The share of residential construction was 47.5%. This is 2.4 pp down from a year earlier.
