Ukraine reduced pipes production by 10.3% in 2M 2021

In January–February 2021, Ukrainian pipe companies reduced pipes production by 10.3% to 123.1 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2020, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Member companies of Ukrtruboprom reduced production of pipes by 15.3% to 72.9 thousand tons in 2M.

Production at Interpipe companies declined as follows:

  • Interpipe NTRP — 26.9 thousand tons (+4.3% against January–February 2020),
  • Interpipe NMPP — 6.7 thousand tons (-42.7%),
  • Interpipe NIKO TUBE — 36.1 thousand tons (-20.1%).

In 2M 2021, Dniprovskiy Pipe Works was idle, while in the same period of the previous year it produced 0.1 thousand tons. Centravis cut production by 50% to 3 thousand tons. Production at Trubostal shrank by 33.3% to 0.2 thousand tons.

Non-member companies of Ukrtruboprom showed the following results in 2M:

  • Ilyich Iron and Steel Works — 24.7 thousand tons (-14.2% against 2020),
  • Kominmet — 25.5 thousand tons (+13.8%).

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, Ukraine’s pipes exports decreased by 22.8% to 473.1 thousand tons against 2019. Revenues from pipes exports dropped by 22.8% to $521.9 million.

In 2020, Ukraine cut production of pipes by 16.3% to 854 thousand tons against 2019.
