Ukraine reduced pipe production by 28.3% in January–April

In January–April 2020, Ukraine’s major pipe companies cut production by 28.3% to 275.9 thousand tons compared to the same period of the previous year, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Member companies of Ukrtruboprom reduced production by 37.1% to 180.6 thousand tons compared to January–April 2019.

Over the first four months, Interpipe NTRP decreased production by 40.1% to 53.4 thousand tons compared to January–April 2019. Interpipe NMPP reduced pipe production by 38% to 23.5 thousand tons. Production of Interpipe Niko Tube declined by 32.2% to 96.2 thousand tons.

In total, pipe production at three Interpipe companies in January–April 2020 shrank by 34.4% to 153.9 thousand tons.

Over the first four months, Dniprovskiy Pipe Works produced just 0.1 thousand tons of pipes against 9.9 thousand tons in January–April last year.

In January–April, Centravis cut production of stainless pipes by 9.5% to 6.7 thousand tons, and Trubostal by 22.2% to 0.7 thousand tons.

In January–April, non-member companies of Ukrtruboprom showed the following results:

  • Ilyich Iron and Steel Works — 52.2 thousand tons (+10.6%);
  • Kominmet — 43.1 thousand tons (-14.5%).

In 2019, major pipe companies of Ukraine cut production by 9.1% to 1.002 million tons compared to the same period of the previous year, member companies of Ukrtruboprom by 10.2% to 715.1 thousand tons.
