In January 2021, Ukrainian ferroalloy producers cut production by 9.2% to 54.55 thousand tons compared to January 2020, according to Interfax-Ukraine citing the Ukrainian Association of Producers of Ferroalloys and Other Electrometallurgical Products (UkrFA).
In January, Nikopol and Zaporizhzhia ferroalloy plants (NFP, ZFP) cut silicomanganese production by 6.7% to 42.12 thousand tons compared to January 2020.
In 2020, NFP, ZFP and Kramatorsk ferroalloy plant (KFP) reduced ferromanganese production by 44.5% to 6.33 thousand tons against January 2020. In January, KFP suspended production (6.4 thousand tons in January 2020).
Ferrosilicon production dropped by 73.2% to 5.82 thousand, while production of metal manganese fell by 86.7% to 0.28 thousand tons.
Pokrov Mining and Processing Plant and Marganets Mining and Processing Plant (Pokrov GOK and Marganets GOK) raised manganese concentrate production by 2.9% to 107.53 million tons y-o-y. Marganets GOK produced 29.03 thousand tons of concentrate (-8.2%), and Pokrov GOK 78.5 thousand tons (+7.7%).
In 2020, Ukrainian ferroalloy companies ramped up production by 28.6% to 746.4 thousand tons against 2019.
Ferrosilicon manganese production decreased by 30.4% to 559.9 thousand tons, ferrosilicon by 2.8% to 60.8 thousand tons. Ferromanganese production increased by 28.4% to 123 thousand tons.
