In July 2021, Ukrainian steel producers reduced their exports of semi-finished products by 19.7% to 540.6 thousand tons against July 2020. At the same time, in monetary terms, revenues hiked by 71% to $382.5 million, according to the customs statistics.
In 7M, Ukraine’s steelmaking companies increased revenues from semi-finished products exports by 51.2%, to $2.34 billion, compared to January–July 2020.
In January–July, Ukrainian steelmakers exported 4.2 million tons of semi-finished products, 3.2% down from 7M of the previous year.
The main consumers of Ukrainian semi-finished products are Italy (31.3%), Turkey (17.4%), and the Dominican Republic (8.3%).
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, volumes of Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products grew by 6.3% to 7.49 million tons against 2019. Conversely, revenues from exports of semi-finished products fell by 3.8% to $2.75 billion.
