Ukraine increased revenues from exports of semi-finished products by 53%

In August 2021, Ukrainian steel producers reduced exports of semi-finished products by 26.5% to 578.5 thousand tons against August 2020. At the same time, in monetary terms revenues hiked by 52.9% to $423.1 million, according to the customs statistics.

In 8M, Ukraine’s steelmaking companies increased revenues from semi-finished products exports by 51.4% to $2.77 billion y-o-y.

In January–August, Ukrainian steelmakers exported 4.75 million tons of semi-finished products, 6.8% down y-o-y.

The main consumers of Ukrainian semi-finished products are Italy (31.02%), Turkey (15.02%), and the Dominican Republic (8.75%).

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, volumes of Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products grew by 6.3% to 7.49 million tons against 2019. Conversely, revenues from exports of semi-finished products fell by 3.8% to $2.75 billion.
