Ukraine increased exports of semi-finished products by 6.3% in 2020

In 2020, Ukrainian steelmakers increased exports of semi-finished products by 6.3% to 7.49 million tons compared to 2019. While export revenues fell by 3.8% to $2.75 billion, according to the customs statistics.

In December 2020, Ukrainian steel producers increased revenues from exports of semi-finished products by 38.8% to $240 million compared to December 2019.

In the same period, steelmaking companies exported 577.6 thousand tons of semi-finished products, 16% up from December 2019.

The main export markets for Ukrainian semi-finished products were Italy (26.3%), Turkey (16.7%), and China (8.6%).

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2019, Ukraine’s revenues from exports of semi-finished products dropped by 4.8% to $2.9 billion against 2018. Conversely, exports of semi-finished products in physical terms grew by 12% to 7.47 million tons.
