Ukraine in Jan-Feb increased ferroalloys output by 22.7%

In January-February, ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine increased the production of ferroalloys by 22.7%, to 141 thousand tons y-o-y. It includes the production increase of silicomanganese by 31%, to 114.6 thousand tons, and metallic manganese – by 86.7%, up to 1.2 thousand tons. At the same time, the production of ferromanganese decreased by 7.4% to 14 thousand tons y-o-y,  ferrosilicon by 3.1%, to 11.3 thousand tons.

It was reported to the GMK Center by the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA).

Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP) in January-February, 2022, increased the output by 23.7% y-o-y to 106.6 thousand tons. Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant (ZFP) for the same time increased production by 21.2%, to 34.9 thousand tons.

In Jan-Feb, NFP increased the silicomarganese production by 28.6% y-o-y, to 101.2 thousand tons, however reduced the ferromanganese, and other alloys output by 27.1%, to 5.45 thousand tons. In particular, the ferromanganese production amounted to 5 thousand tons.

ZFP in Jan-Feb increased the production of sillicomanganese by 52.3% y-o-y, to 13.4 thousand tons, ferromanganese by 18%, to 9.1 thousand tons, metallic manganese – by 86.7%, to 1.2 thousand tons. At the same time the ferrosilicon output decreased by 3.1%, to 11.3 thousand tons.

In 2021, ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine increased production by 15% y-o-y, to 858.7 thousand tons. Ferrosilicon output increased by 18%, up to 9.1 thousand tons, metallic manganese – by 2.8 times, to 7.75 thousand tons.

As a reminder, in early March the NFP paid to the budgets of different levels for Q1, 2022, about UAH 400 million taxes.

As GMK Center reported, since the beginning of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the staff of the ZFP has been helping to prepare the city for defense, and to solve humanitarian issues. In addition, the plant has mastered the production of anti-tank hedgehogs, and field stoves.
